9th Nov 2015: bottle shared between three as we did ’The Rainbow Project 2015’. I thought this was the best of the 7 beers this year. Slight haze to the golden pour, on top a thin white head. I like Key Lime Pie, had some in California earlier this year: the beer reminded me of it somewhat, so well done you brewers. Tart lemon aroma and nose, yet an underlying sweetness was never far from the surface. Interesting and different.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a golden orange color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly concaves and leaves just a glazing over the beer. Thin spider web lacing clings to the glass.
The smell starts off with a big sweet burst of key lime, sour yet sweet, bitter with a nice tart edge.
The taste was a balanced sour to sweet to bitter between the key limes, lemongrass and a light woody edge underneath. After some warming, subtle pie-like crustiness, makes it taste like drinking key lime pie.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation runs nice and low so that the tartness of the key limes hits my tongue in a dry manner.
Overall, nice take on taking key limes and putting it in a beer. Not sure if the pie-like quality was intentional, but hey, I’d drink this again.

Sample at The Source. Hazy orange color with a medium thin white head that diminishes quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of lime, spices and malt. Medium body with flavors of mildly tart lime, herbal yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is fruity with a key lime aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Keg at IMBC 2015; cloudy amber/orange pour with a thin bubbly white head, aroma has sharp lime with some fuck, taste really does have lip puckering lime, sour soured yoghurt, very interesting beer.

Tap. Magic Rock Tap. Hazy orange. Film, and a bubbly halo of white head. Lime cheesecake. Woody grains. Very much like the other version, but with less soap, and less tang. I’m liking this more, but that could be something to do with the horrendous drive I just made to get here and the fact I’m busting for a beer...

On tap at The Source. Pours a hazy orange with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is exactly as advertised, key lime pie and funk. Medium mouth, tart lime, funky, boozy, very good.
