Keg at pub Edo. Amber orange cloudy colour small beige head. Aroma Belgian yeast, herbal bit of fruit, berries, some orange. Taste fruity orange bit of bitterness. Quite malty too. Bit of saison taste but bit more full on. Not bad. Best so far.

Tap at IBREW Akihabara, Tokyo. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, floral big hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a malt, gluey, smooth, floral, light metallic, big hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Tap @ Furusatomatsuri (18.01.2018). Pours clean dark gold, clear. Soft nose with some candy sugar and fruity esters. Taste has medium bitterness, clean and definktely Belgian yeast character. Less sweet than usual, even dry in the background. Well made example of what I would imagine as Belgian IPA. Dry bitter herbal Belgian linger in the finish. Tasty.

Tap at CBM Kichijoji. Pear and apple aromas with some light pepper and citrus. Taste is slightly sweet with good citrus notes. Average carbonation with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Hoppy bitter finish, but not overly so, with a touch of pepper. Solid. --- Beer merged from original tick of Swan Lake #B-IPA on 13 Feb 2016 at 17:36 - Score: 7. Original review text: Take out beer! Not bad.

B-IPA meaning BELGIAN IPA rather than black IPA... On tap at Bungalow. It pours a cloudy light gold.kild Belgian spicy notes with lots of citrusy hop character in the bouquet. Full bodied, smooth, sweet. Almost candiesh in the flavor, the spices & the hops merge into a tasty cake like sweetness. Not so bitter, very tasty & interesting. It has definite clove notes with a sharp finish. Those clove notes re quite prominent leading me to feel this is more of a hoppy weizen than a Belgian IPA, damn good though.

Draught at Eni-bru. Very cloudy yellow-gold color with a very bubbly, thin head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, golden malt. Fruity, with some citrus and pepper. Interesting flavor: fruity, strong hops, ok malt. Belgian yeast fruitiness: with grapefruit and citrus. Long bitter finish. interesting and original, though maybe slightly confused. I like it.

Golden hazy colored. Spices, light hops, some earthiness. Similar flavor. This one seemed to be trying really hard to accomplish something but missed by a fairly wide margin. It wasn’t bad, but not great. I don’t think the Belgian IPA has been perfected by anyone, though.

Draught at Eni-bru, Osaka. Muddy pale orange. Orangey hoppy nose. Sweetish and lively, vaguely fruity. Slender and sparkling, like champagne. yeasty, but not overly so. Hops bring seville orange marmelade that grows into a pleasnt late bitteralmond finish. Perfectly executed - complex and very drinkable. Love it!
