Bottle (2017) at home. Opaque pitch black color, small off-white to beige head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, chocolate is dominant up front, with cocoa powder and vanilla shortly thereafter. Flavor is malts, cocoa, vanilla, malt bitter. After that comes bourbon, liquor bitterness. Medium body, a bit thin texture but at the same time very oily, average to medium carbonation.

2017 vintage. On tap at Little Italy BP. Dark brown, all kinds of vanilla, lots of barrel, some sweet chocolate as well. Smells rich. Soft and sweet, nice alcohol in the finish. Has a fair bit of barrel, almost a bit of tartness in the finish so I guess it’s time to drink it. Still really nice though.

(Bottle, vintage 2017) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak wood and bourbon. Malty, roasted taste with notes of sweet espresso, liquorice, cacao, bourbon, vanilla, oak wood and a balanced roasty bitterness in a slightly vinous finish. Full body, quite sweet. Powerful and warming, still in good balance. Very nice.
