Tasty BA imperial stout, heavy on the booze but not so much as to overpower the general Victory At Sea niceties. Coffee and vanilla are assertive at first, as is the bitter chocolate core and underlying roasted malt notes, accented by anise and dark cherry and currant, while the back end grows bourbon-tinted and oaky, with a heavy-duty alcohol warmth and a somewhat abrasive texture. Pours a viscous black with a hearty beige head and ample lace. Chocolate, pipe tobacco, and booze on the nose. Mouthfeel is suitable for a 12% beer, but the warmth is very palpable and an unwanted harshness lingers until the beer reaches a proper temperature. Good, but not a classic.

12 oz bottle poured. Gave up on finding a single of this, but figured it was 4pack worthy. Pours a thick cola black with a lasting, rocky tan foam head. Quite the barrel impact to this. Strong bourbon notes fill the aroma and flavor. Sweet chocolate and booze aroma. Pure whiskey. Bold roasted malt that lingers forever. Solid and precise bourbon notes. Very nice.

Bottle from Belmont Station. Dark pour, kind of fizzy. Sweet, Woody aroma. Taste emphasizes the porter, barrel notes take it to the next level. Really nice and smooth.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of coffee and vanilla upfront, followed by loads of bourbon barrels. Flavour is intense, with heavy bourbon barrels, coffee and loads of vanilla. Quite sweet, but not cloying - the bourbon cuts some of this down. Excellent decadent treat.

On tap at Elizabeth Station on Darkest Day III. Pours a very dark brown. Aroma is chocolatey, vanilla, bourbon, what a thing! Similar taste with lots of chocolate and vanilla, some roasted malt on the background. Great!

$4.30 bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours nearly black with a small brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, bourbon, coconut, vanilla. Flavor is dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak, earth. Quite bourbony with lots of dark-ass chocolate. Strong, flavorful. Id tone down the bitterness of the dark chocolate a hint to make this even better.

12 oz bottle,. Pours black with a moderate head that settles quickly. Aromas of peanuts, rich chocolate, coconut, oaky bourbon, dark sugars, sweet dark fruit and slick roasted malts. Not much more to say for flavors, just thinner as the rye alcohol and porter base comes to play. Still, pretty wonderful.
