Tap at the brewpub, like others, with Matija & Saša. Extremely dark brown (distinctly brown and not black) body with a lasting off white head. The aroma is very much on the rough side (not enough conditioning?) - alcohol, some green apple, light plums, coffee and maybe glue. Okay when it settles a little, but still not immediately appealing. The taste, however, makes up for it. Sweetish, smooth, carrying notes of coffee, plums and light caramel, ending slightly roasty. Huge value for the 66kč/0.4l, a nice, drinkable imperial stout that's pushed out of the category it belongs to by the rough aroma - but, by all means, go for it!

Tap at the Beer Geek Bar, Prague. Poured a clear dark brown, almost black colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, liqouirce, charcoal. The flavour is liquorice bitter with a smooth, rich, oily, liqouirce warm alcohol bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation. I was really looking forward to this one but ultimately felt cheated. Lots of liqouirce and alcohol that might appeal to my Dutch friends but not the kind of imperial stout that I have grown to enjoy.
