Felinfoel ESB has a marvellously robust bitter ale giving lots of good body and a fruity aftertaste. A nice long finish on the palate with hints of toffee apple flavours.

24/6/2024. Bottle bought at James Pringle Weavers, Llanfairpg. Pours clear bright amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, malt, biscuit, fruits, bread, hint of marzipan. Quite sweet, moderate bitterness, slight metallic edge. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Bittersweet with a slight tart edge to finish. Not bad.

500ml bottle. Poured a crystal clear chestnut brown colour with a short-lived frothy off white head. The aroma is big malt, light fruit, nutty, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a smooth, rich, sweet malt, light floral, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A solid session bitter.

50cl bottle from Aldi, Bracknell. An attractive dark copper colour with a loose cream head; caramel aroma; rather thin in the mouth with a sweet caramel taste, and a light woody bitterness leaving a fruity finish. Pleasant enough, but needing more weight.

500ml bottle from my local Aldi; BBE Aug 19. Drank at home on 15th Sep 18. Looked good, deep amber with an off-white head. Malty and fruity nose, taste also malty with a gentle sweetness, decent hop content keeps the sweetness in check to give a slightly bitter finish.
