A pleasant, understated IPA. Not getting any Belgian characteristics. The hops are soft and floral, with caramel, rye spiciness and a hint of ginger. Maybe an older bottle?

Bottle and can. Clear amber body with a medium off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of candy, pear, orange sherbet and dusty yeast. Flavour of orange, grapefruit, minerals and pear. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. A tasty beer with lovely balance between the bitter hops and the tangy yeast.

0.33 l can, thanks to my family. Pours deep golden-orange with thick, but quickly disappearing head. Nose is faint fruity-flowery and yeasty, with a gentle hoppy touch. In taste it’s the same - technically a hoppier belgian ale. Closes with short herbalish bitter finish, has light body and lively carbo. I didn’t get much of the components in aroma nor in taste, but this might be because I feel like I’m coming down with the flu, I’d like to try this one under different circumstances.

Hazy Copper pour, medium white head. Aroma is sweet, candied citrus, light yeast and quite a bit of resinous pine. Slightly watery mouth feel, soft carb. Yeast finish, fruit and light pine. I’m not getting much Belgian ale influence Here, just alot of old ipa flavours.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Aroma is biscuity malt, fruity hops, mild tropical, hint of caramel, mildly yeasty, plenty of ripe orange. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Good Belgian IPA or hoppy Belgian Ale.

Can shared with Morten at Gloomhaven evening at MB2 30.07.24. Dark golden. White head. Sweet aroma and taste of tawny marmalade, some citrus bitterness and malt sweetness. Very, very tasteful and well-balanced. Good drinkability.

Keg at The Southern. Over 10 years since the original launch, which was October 2013 if memory serves. The beer that got me a job at Stewarts. I haven't worked there for over two years, so think I can be sufficiently distanced to post a reasonable review. I also know the recipe has changed over the years. This pint was clear amber with a thick off-white head. Aromas were mostly spicy, rye bread and pepper. Taste has faint citrus, more spice. Dry finish. Not sure it's getting the same Citra dry-hop it used to, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Can 330ml (Sainbury local, Edinburgh). Amber colour and small white head. Light fruity aroma. Light-bodied. Fruity, a bit spicey hoppynez, Belgian vibe underneath. Nice brew.

Bière 33 cl bue au v&b de Villeneuve d'ascq. Houblonnée mais pas fruitée ni très bonne, goût étrange, c'est vraiment difficile de trouver une bonne IPA belge ! (M)
