This ale poured a deep amber colour with a nice, frothy, light brown head. Scents include citrus hops, tea and a little dough. First swig was smooth with good malt hop balance. Carbonation is low/medium. Flavours of spruce hops, light iced tea and malt. Finish is medium hoppy/bitter. A perfect amount of bitter hop flavour.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: Pours bright red with an off-white head. Aroma is light pine, citrus, and bread. This is definitely not one of those standard caramel infused amber ales. Nice light hoppiness throughout. Pine and earthy notes. Malt backbone is light and bready. Not bad.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy deep copper with a large fluffy khaki head that leaves some sparse lace. Nose is toasted malt and caramel with a good dose of floral and piney hops. Medium sweet caramel start tempered by a medium light hop bitterness. Mouth is a little thin with average carbonation and a dry finish. Well hopped amber ale.

Bottle at West Coast Brew Fest 2014. Pours copper with a white head. Light fruit/malt aromas. Med body, maybe. Flavor is roast malt with very little hop. It’s an amber. Good for an amber tho.

Hazy dull amber, leafy, floral and light caramel aroma, a bit fizzy, but nice fruity, floral character. Kind of yeasty and muddled, though, tough to get through a full one.
