Tap @ In De Wildeman, sample size. Dark color, but not black. Light beige head, not much. Aroma’s: herbal, sweet fruit, light alcoholic, jenever/juniper, laurel/bay leaves. Retronasal it’s still quite herbal, moderate sweet, anise, juniper. Flavor is moderate sweet, herbal. Alcohol feels quite strong. Medium bodied. Finish is herbal, moderate bitter.

Bottle from Damian. Clear dark brown colour, brownish head. Quite well balanced, alcohol hidden well, relatively easy drinking. Rich aroma and flavour, both showing complex maltiness, toffee, chocolate, anise, colaish. Quite good.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Dark brown, light black hue. Nose is weird moldy sugar, herbal olive oils, bark, weird herbs. Taste is strange vegetable licorice, herbs, bark, almost bock-qualities (same for body), touch molasses, more strange vegetable licorice. Lightly fizzy. Very odd & not really for me but I don’t care for licorice so there is that.

From bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Slightly hazy, very dark brown. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma of caramel, brown sugar and licorice. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy taste of caramel, brown sugar and licorice, followed by a short, slightly bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, flat. Nice!
