17/10/2022. Draught schooner at Yarra Botanica, Melbourne. Pours slightly hazy pale orange gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is tropical, orange, citrus, touch of pine. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness with a light tart edge. Moderate body, average carbonation. Enjoyed it, especially in such a great location!

Tap at the Alehouse Project, Melbourne. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is grainy mineral malt, tropical citrus fruit hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter sweet with a light, fresh, fruity, light dry pepper spice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

Pint on tap at Mrs Parma’s, Melbourne. Golden beer, slight haze, thin white head. Medium carbonation. Nose is lemon and malt. Crisp and clean with an increasing citric sharpness. There are hints of earthy hops too. Nice APA. Another solid Two Birds offering.

Presumably a tweaked Oaty McOatface. Bottle (Otter’s Promise). 10C. Barely hazy gold with a modest white head. Vibrant aroma of gooseberry, pine, some passionfruit and grapefruit. 7 Quite soft texture initially, perhaps slightly fuller bodied than 5% would suggest, lowish carbonation - all adds up to judicious use of oats I suppose. Not much in the way of sweetness or malt presence, but the hops sit on something. Firm piney bitterness with some astringency that undoes some of the smoothness. Does a good job of being tropical without being at all fruit saladish.
