A MONYO Sörfőző Társaság bémutatja a kőnyőrtelen ragadozót, a Black Alligatort. IBU = 19.5. SRM: 45. PLATO: 17°

Malts: Bohemian Pilsner, Biscuit, smoked wheat malt, Special W). Polaris hops, candi sugar, juniper, aligator pepper and three types of yeast.

Batch 191. Thanks kajser! Shared with him, franski and ogivlado. Black, light off white head. Slightly tart chocolat, dark malts and big banana in the aroma. Light vinuous note. Sweet caramelly taste, vinuous notes. No juniper, no peppers, maybe vague vague heat that gets buried under everything else, but seriously. Just OK.

330ml bottle from 2016 craft beer advent calendar. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, juniper berries, pepper, alcohol and yeast. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, juniper berries, licorice, dark fruit, brown sugar, pepper and a hint of coffee with warming alcohol in a dry finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Very nice. Has some complexity. Exceeded my expectations. More of a porter than a saison.

On tap. Black body, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, plums, caramel, pepper and a bit of tobacco. Taste of chocolate, pepper, caramel, roasted malts, plums and raisins. Not so saisonish for me, more like a porter, but I dig it.

Super dark brown coloured body with a muddy glow of deep amber and a smooth nice sized three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, tons of spices, grass, pine and quite a bit of juniper berries as well. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malty flavours with roasted and almost smoked malt flavoured showing some grass, herbs, light sweetness and quite a bit of licorice and deep flavours near the end. Aftertaste shows some alcohol warmth with a little sweetness, but this is mostly about the herbs from the dry flavours, but also from the pungency of juniper berries and licorice. Overall, a very nice beer that is full of flavours and depth with a nice complexity - definitely good to try and worth grabbing if you can find it anywhere - even if you have to lug it across the whole of europe and the Atlantic like I did. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Odalon in Budapest, Hungary on 24-March-2016 for HUF750 sampled at home in Washington on 14-June-2016 while watching Hungary beat Austria in Euro 2016!

Tap at hopaholic Budapest. Hazed black / dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting frothy mid tan head. Aroma is smoked malts, maple glaze upon ham, sweet malts, caramel. Some Belgian yeast phenol on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, brown nutty malts, maple, unrefined sugars, banana and clove phenols. Plaate is medium light bodied, frothy, highish carbonation. Gassy. Lingering bitter black malts.
