  IPA - Rye Regular

An India Pale Ale brewed with a generous amount of rye malt, this beer pours a deep orange, ruby red color reminiscent of the world famous Haleakala Crater sunrises it was inspired by. Medium bodied with a strong spicy, herbal character from both the use of rye malt and Chinook and Zythos hops. Rounded out with a touch of caramel sweetness and a pleasant bitter finish.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent copper with a white head. Aroma is very citrus with pine/floral/earth and definitely rye. Med body at least. Flavor is citrus, a little pine, and a very nice amount of rye spice. Earthy. Bitter. Towards dry. Good stuff.

Can from Milk and Hops, Chelsea. Canned 9/27/16. Pours a dark orangish-red color with a frothy beige head and some heavy, streaky lace. The nose is dominated by the rye / spice, with some earthy hop notes, bread, anda bit of citrus. Rye / spice dominated flavor as well. Drinks bitter and a little astringent. Medium body, long, dry close. Rye forward for sure, could use a hint more balance, but it's a solid one.

Pour is a dark red with a average white head. Aroma is a nice mix of oily hops and spicy rye. Flavor is pretty much spot on with the aroma. A nice spicy rye with just enough bitter hops presence. Maybe it’s the water in Hawaii but this has a super soft mouth feel. Decent beer with both the rye malt and the hops showing up equally.
