(Bottle) Pours hazy murky honey amber with tiniest white head. Nice aroma - orange, apricot, raisins, hint of toffee. Medium body, creamy, soft carbonation. Taste is rich and hoppy, with a good balance between some sweet carrack malt that’s only really apparent in the mid palate and the hops, which deliver some nice fruity notes up front and some decent bitterness in the finish. There’s some nice spice and some alcohol. Very good.

30th December 2017
Very hazy deep amber beer, bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Fluffy malts, soft cream and with a trace of caramel and rye tang. Soft ripe orange, a little pine, very mild hop spice. More ripe fruits on the soft finish. Quite drinkable but really wants a decent hop kick, quite ripe here.

Bottle at Penny Blue, Melbourne. Poured a clear reddish amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is toffee malt, resin, woody hop. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a crisp, malt, big woody, alcoholic bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Left lots of sediment in the bottle but pours quite clear amber with an inch plus of white head. High bead. Aroma is resinous with ripe tropical fruit and sticky bread crust, hints of spice. Quite full bodied, carbonation turns out to be lower than it looked. Bitterness kicks in early and is quite woody - reminds me a bit of Hitachino Nest Japanese Classic Ale a bit, though it’s more pine than cedar. Citrus is tenor register but strong; tropical fruit melds with spiced bread crust nicely. Oozing, insistent bitterness. Liked this a lot, and I liked its character and originality.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/5/2017. Pours a dark golden with a small to medium head. The aroma features some caramel, with some spice and metallic notes. Flavour wise, there’s caramel, biscuit, and some citrus and stone fruit. Has a very big spicy, rye bitterness. Medium bodied, with softish carbonation. and spice. Has a quite a bit of character and intensity. Quite solid but lacks a bit of finesse.
