Enjoyed at the Arrow & the Loon. Muddy dark brown colour with a foamy small beige head, good retention and lacing. The taste starts off with dark fruits, then bitterness kicks in. Anise finish with some chocolate notes. Big nose of dark fruits, roasted malts and grass. Grain eventually appears and some licorice. Smooth alcohol, well-hidden with mild dryness. Full flavours, lots going on. A great Impy Brown Ale !

On cask at the Ottawa Beerfest. Muddy waters imperial brown. A nutty brown pour, it was the end of the cask so with sediment. Plum, citrus, boozy crystal malts in the nose. Smooth bodied this beer is insanely bitter with chocolate/caramel malts, pine & citrusy orange. Good stuff but more bitter than I would like.
