What's the point of saying "brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot" when your beer is absolute garbage?

0.5 l can from local 'LIDL', best before October 2026. Hazy, amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish-malty, a bit grassy aroma of grains, some straw and hints of cardboard. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, malty and a bit grassy taste of grains, straw and hints of cardboard, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

Can 50 cl: Pours a cloudy, opaque orangey amber with a smallish and lacing, off-white head. Caramel, toffee and some yeast in the nose. Medium-bodied, solid carbonation, slight biscuit and toffee with sufficient, balancing bitterness. For a cheap LIDL product this is actually quite satisfying. 220725

Can. Cloudy dark orange/brown sporting a big white head. Aroma of malts and yeast. Taste of yeast, malts, aramel, some lemons, grains and grass. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Well it’s designed to be a low budget Kellerbier and it totally succeeds. I don’t rate it that highly but I still enjoyed it.

0,5 l can, 55 ct at Lidl. BB 03.04.2026. Cloudy orange golden in the glass, more than a stable one finger light tanned head. Apple fruity aroma with some grainy elements. Taste starts also fruity, dry grainy caramel. Soft but present bitterness. Less carbonated than expected. Okay.
