On tap at Keg Nagoya, Nagoya. Close to pitch black with a small, beige head. Roasty aroma with coffee, chocolate, hints of dark fruits, caramel and herbs. Medium sweet with surprisingly nice roasty flavours and a balanced bitterness. Medium body with fairly average carbonation. Tasty stout!

Poured into a taster showing coffee brown with thick transparent rims and lightly tanned films around the edges. The nose shows a lot of roasted ground coffee but of light intensity. The palate is light bodied with lightly smooth carbonation. Flavors of very subtle latte towards the end and a moderately tart note in the middle. Roasted coffee notes again on the linger. Light and quaffable stout.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Dark, cola colour. A few lumps in there. Messy, thin, lasting, tan head. Milk chocolate. Black syrup. Some prune. The aroma is on the sweet, chocolatey end of the scale. Taste is light dry. Some grape pip bitterness. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation suits well. Finishes light, roast bitter.

330ml bottle from Deguchiya in Naka-Meguro. Poured into a stemmed tulip. Oil black with a slight purple hue and nice tan head. Roasted malt, dark roasted coffee and slight cacao aromas present. Burned coffee, toffee and a slight vegetable quality present on the tongue. Really well balanced sweet maltiness. Rich and creamy mouthfeel while still being light-bodied. One of the best stouts in Japan. --- Beer merged from original tick of Minoh Stout on 29 Dec 2015 at 20:21 - Score: 7

On tap @ Craft Hands, Shibuya, Tokyo, with TimE. Black color. Beige head. Aroma’s: heavy roast, ground coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor is moccha-ish, lightly sweet, roasted. Body is on the thin side. Finishes roasty and just lightly bitter. Flavor doesn’t live up to the aroma, otherwise this would have been great.
