On tap @ Craft Hands, Shibuya, Tokyo, with TimE. Black color. Beige head. Aroma’s: heavy roast, ground coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor is moccha-ish, lightly sweet, roasted. Body is on the thin side. Finishes roasty and just lightly bitter. Flavor doesn’t live up to the aroma, otherwise this would have been great.

Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Light palate, a little dry. Medium dark malt, touch of coffee. Mild minerals. Dry finish. Pretty standard stuff but all right.

On tap at Temma Beer Belly. It pours a classic inky black with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate with a hint of coffee. The flavor is slightly roasted or smokey sweet dark malts with a bit of a bitter coffee finish. Light body for the style but easy to drink.

33 cl bottle thanks to Ingo! Sampled on April 8, 2013. Marked (BB?) 13.01.30, purchased late December 2012.Dark reddish brown color, big brown head. Acidic, roasted scent, coffee as well, way too acidic. Acidic, roasted, thin taste, not pleasant. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.Did not finish my pour.

Tap at Beer Republic, Yokohama. Black colour with a small beige head. Slightly smoked flavour of chocolate, plum. A bit weak bodied. Flavour is rather bitter, chocolate.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Kyoto. BBE 30.11.2011
Aroma of coffee with milk, vanilla and sugar. Hints of chocolate too. Flavour has bitter coffee and some sugar. Dry and ashy finish. Nice, but a bit too milky and sweet.

Tap @ Popeye, Oct 2009. Roast aroma. Dark brown creamy head. Chocolate and roast flavors, very light acidity which never keels over. Nice.

A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. A nice coffee stout aroma, chocolate, and light hops. In mouth, a nice classy coffee stout, with bitter chocolate, nutty, medium bodied. Bottle at Mondiale 2009.

Draught at Eni-bru, Osaka. Transparently black, small head. Chocolatey and mild. Sweetish anr rounded, light roasty flavours with notes of burnt chocolate. Finishes with low-medium bitterness. A well made stout on the milder side.
