Panda thanks to Cloin. I was in a crowded St Alban's recently, full of day trippers and tourists and, a beer would have done much to improve my souring mood. Cue a Mad Squirrel tap room! Shut! Unamused. People every feckin where but the tap roomis shut - FAIL! Won't let that affect this rating. 🤥. Near opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, airy, mildly dry, good fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a good amount of airy dark malt cream and much lesser chocolate. The bourbon barrel is the dominant factor here and it's that damp bourbon infused wet wood slight tang and mild spicyness that bosses the mildly sweet dark malts. Airy finish brings unsweet dark chocolate Malteasers and good fruity bourbon. A mild spicy linger. Rather good.
