Tap at the Napier Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a slightly hazy straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light, watery, woody metallic, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Hazy light tan. Fresh, pithy hop aroma has a light floral character to go with the earthiness. Berryish and floral with a fair bit of bitterness.

Pint on tap @ The Palisade, The Rocks. Golden beer, solid white head, slight haze. Distant floral hop nose. Light carbonation. Light body, metallic hop taste. A bit of fruit in the finish but still too tinny for my liking. Not great.

Unlike most reviewers, I found the nose to be very earthy - overwhelmingly so. There’s some late caramel and some mild floral notes. It’s much more palatable in the mouth with some nice hops and citrus, but it’s quite short and quite thin. It’s certainly pleasant enough as a Summer beer, but only if I hold my nose.

From a 330ml bottle on 8/11/2011. Pours a cloudy light golden with a good sized head. Has a faint fruity aroma (apples). In the mouth, there’s a background of bready malt, with some sharp citrus flavours up front. Has a firm bitterness at the end. All up, a quite decent pale.

Clear amber coloured body with a very thin slightly off-white head. Aroma of iron, malt, cereal, fruit and an interesting smell that i’ll always associate with Flintstones vitamins. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty and deep iron flavours with a lot of fruit notes, some odd and complex pale tastes, and if they are hops they are varieties i’ve never had before (which is possible, as they are from the Yarra valley). Overall, an interesting pale, and quite different than an APA or EPA, but nice to try. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Slowbeer in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 31-December-2009 sampled at home on this side of the world at home in Washington on 19-May-2011.

Bottle. Lovely clear golden brown with excellent white head. Lovely floral and citrus aroma. Light body with slightly creamy mouthfeel from plenty of fine carbonation. Flavour has clean refreshing start with some stonefruit hints. This develops into a rich maltiness with hints of coffee or dark chocolate and ends with some decent bitterness. An excellent beer.
