From a 330ml bottle on 9/12/2015. Pours a dark brown with the barest of heads. The aroma really does smell like a Gaytime - creamy toffee ice cream. Take a sip and there’s heaps more toffee and vanilla ice cream an chocolate, but some sharp roasty notes rounding things off at the back. The texture is creamy with the carbonation average. This s pretty impressive - very reminiscent of a Golden Gaytime in liquid form, but still sufficiently beer like. Tops the Moon Dog Gaytime brew,which is a pretty decent brew in its own right.

Lately I’ve have been sooking it up and avoiding the seemingly endless Australian beers made to taste like icecreams, lollies and cocktails. This one slipped through. Bottle. Black with a fat coat of tan head. Yes, it smells like a Golden Gaytime: caramel, cheap vanilla, fake honeycomb. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very sweet. Caramel topping, fake honeycomb, vanilla essence. There is little relief from this - a very slight bitterness is there I guess. I’m sure it’s clever and it is what it says it is but it’s disgusting and I tipped it out.

Taster at GABS Sydney 2015 (as Golden Stout Time). Black beer with tan head. Wonderful aroma and taste, really does taste like a Golden Gaytime. And yet it’s still a good stout. My favourite beer at GABS. I went back for a (much bigger) second glass.
