We aged a rye wine for two years in Heaven Hill barrels and an imperial stout, also for two years, in Wild Turkey barrels, then blended them and spiced delicately with Ancho, Mulato and Pasilla Negro chilis.

Bottle from Left Field Beer. Consumed at CBJ Tasting. Aroma has spice over chewy dsrk fruit and dough. Flavourwise it's similar with a bitter mote chili. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. The chilli blends in.

Interesting stuff. Mellow cocoa, smoky ancho, a little peppery heat, burnt toast. Raisins. Rather fun.

Bottle share at CBJ. Thanks to the Bearded Avenger. Clear brown beer, a few tan bubbles. Light palate, mildly dry, reasonably smooth for the most part, decent carbonation on the back end. Light smooth malts, a little chocolate, a little malt cream. Obvious chilli but, it has depth and range, not just heat. Fruity and mildly smoky chilli. Light finish. Nice enough for a chilli affair.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, vanilla, caramel, fruity, hints of spice, taste is sweet, spiced, chocolate, vanilla fudge, coconut. 8

(Keg at CoolHead Taproom, 20250409) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, lightly brown and it disappeared quickly. Aroma had burnt malts, vanilla, ash and brll pepper. Palate was full bodied and quite dry with chilli heat and medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, bell pepper, chilli heat, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, chilli heat and bitterness. A tasty burnt brew with carefully used adjuncts.

Smooth, slightly roasty with some barrel notes, oak, rye, wood and spices, hints of warming chili, prunes, figs and raisins. Complex and surprisingly balanced.
