Rich in flavour, with herbs and hints of rum and dark chocolate, complemented by a hoppy twist. Bitter twists and caramel undertones blend these complex flavours into a cohesive whole. A classic doppelsticke, where the intense bitterness initially subsides gently.

Brewed at unknown location potentially in Germany

Brown, cloudy with amber highlights, light beige head. Aroma of bread, dried fruit, and a slight citrus note. Taste similar, typical ale, dark bread, nice fruitiness, liqueur-like alcohol notes, and a slight herbal bitterness deepened by the alcohol. Much better than I expected.

0.33 litre can via Beer52. Poured into an old Hannan Alt glass (twice) at home on 16th June 2025. Slight red hue to the deep amber body, cream coloured crown on both pours. Caramel like aroma and initial taste giving way to a light hop bitterness, a lot better than I expected to be honest.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A dark amber pour with an earthy thick cream coloured head; spicy malt aroma; sweet malty taste with an immediate crisp bitterness; then a long finish with red fruit and bittersweet caramel. A nice altbier.

330ml can. Pours brown with off white foamy head. Aroma of caramel, citrus rind hoppy hints, touch of brown bread. Taste has a dense rich flavour, malty and brown bread noted with some caramel, herbal and sharp citrus tang. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation with bitter finish. A sipping beer with ok flavour.
