In business for over 30 years, this North London shop, full to the rafters with audio and vinyl from the past and present, is a pilgrimage for anyone either into hi-fi or just to witness the kind of shop that rarely exists now. They are one of the few places that still repair hi-fi. Often cited as an influence in London’s ‘Listening Bar’ scene, their systems can be found in some of the country’s best bars, venues, and restaurants - including Orbit Beers’ taproom!
Fittingly brewed with a blend of First Gold and Brewers Gold hops, providing aromas of marmalade, delicate spice, and blackcurrant, all balanced by a refreshing bitterness. The malt backbone, built on Golden Promise, Caramel Pils, and Oat Malt, offers a smooth, light body with a gentle caramel sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel. At 4.5% ABV, this golden-hued pour is an easy-drinker that doesn’t compromise on character.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 29 May 2025) Golden colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of orange, peaches, grass and floral hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with orange, peaches, grass, wheat crackers and a balanced citric/grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Refreshing and highly drinkable. Nice one.

Easygoing and drinkable. Simple pale malt character, bread, a little English yeast, nips of dough and straw, soft bitterness. It grew on me.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 7th May 2025. Clear, pale gold with shallow foam and spot lacing. Hazelnut malt aroma. Citrus tang and nutty maltiness in-mouth, and a finish of citrus and leafy hop notes on a sweet malt. A velvet smooth mouthfeel and a fair amount of body.

Cask at The Star & Garter, Bromley. Grassy, lemony nose, spot of white grape. Taste is white grape, lemon drops, lychee, kiwifruit. Malty bittersweet finish. Slips down rather nicely.
