Pour is a black with a average tan head. Aroma is a nice roasty, toasty dark malt. Flavor is more of that thick roasted malt with a little chocolate and coffee. Leaves a nice thick roasted malt residue on the tongue as this goes down. A very thick but heavily roasted oat goodness.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Black with a finger of light tan head. Aromas of oats, chocolate, roast, subtle dark fruit. Tastes of roasty notes, oats, dark chocolate, a slight bit of vanilla, hint of raisin/dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish.

Bottle received in trade from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a solid dark brown/black with a decent sized bubbly tan head that quickly dissipates to a small cap on top. Aromas of coffee and chocolate with bits of caramel and cereal grains and hints of fruit. The flavor is what I expected from the aroma. Roasted creamed coffee with a touch of chocolate and caramel and a hint of lactose? Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Decent brew, but seems a bit lacking in body and mouthfeel.

It pours a dark brown close to black colored body with a slim half finger off-white/tan foamy head, some lacing slides into the body as it goes down. The aroma has some dark roasted malts, light coffee, slightly oaty. The taste has some roasted sweetness, slight chocolate, bittersweet chocolate aftertaste, and ends with a dry finish. Its somewhat easy on the palate.
Overall, this is a good oatmeal stout, definitely worthy of many more pours and as a breakfast stout.

7.2% from Sugaya. 500 yen or so. Dark viscous pour with a brown head of foam. Notes of chocolate & a hint of coffee in the aroma. A solid flavor of roast coffee, chocolate and a slight bitterness and a touch of nuttiness in the finish/aftertaste. The oatmeal gave it a creamy full body. Quite good, an above average stout.
