Large sample (of Roy's pint) at the Last Drop Inn, York on 20th May 2026. Day two of our three day York pub crawl. Titanic do a good Porter and this was no exception to their long line of this style. Malty, meaty and very drinkable.

Cask argyle joiners arms Lincoln. Off black colour with a slim head. Aroma and taste are malty some chocolate. But body is a bit light.

13/4/2024. Cask at the 11th Isle of Man Beer & Cider Festival. Pours clear dark red/brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, caramel, dark fruits, berries. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, light tartness. Moderate body, average carbonation.

Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester. Pours a dark ruby with a medium sized foamy cream head. The aroma has malts and yeast. In the mouth it has a lsightly smoky texture and the main flavours a dark fruits and roasted malts. There’s some bitterness too and this becomes more pronounced in the lsightly dry finish. This is a decent basic porter.

Half pint on cask at the Hallcross. Thin beige head. Clear dark amber pour. Light chocolate and coffee.

Cask half at Bridge End Inn, Ruabon after a 40 mile ride through the Welsh hinterlands. Dark ruby colour. Unfortunately seems to have been left in the line a little too long. Will have to re-rate from fresh. Rated objectively.

Cask at Bree Louise. First of all, I like a pun, but this one is terrible! Ruby red, not much gold head. Aroma is fruit and marzipan, bit of plum, bit of sweetness. Taste is fruity, bit like sugarry tea. Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear reddish brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, smoke, light fruit. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter with a dry charcoal smoky, red berry fruit palate and a lingering smoky liqouice finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
