Cask at the Hop Inn, Swindon, 04/04/2025.
Pitch black with a big old light khaki cap that stays till the curtain call ... solid looker.
Nose is ashen tones, roast malt, light smoke, charr, burnt toffee.
Taste comprises roast malts, charr, cocoa powder, light smoke.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close.
Tidy enough stout if lacking a little in depth and flavour.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn crema head. Nose - toffee and cream. Taste - some chocolate but completely dominated by toffee and cream again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - it’s good. Not what I expected but good.

Keg @ The Bailey Head, Oswestry. Pours black, creamy white head. Quite a smooth, creamy texture to this. Aroma is light roast, some cocoa. A little thin on taste, some moderate toasty roast, but perfectly fine.

Keg at the Greyfriars, Reading. Black with a tan head and a light fizz. Lots of berries up front then dark chocolate, lots of roasty malts and a hint of charcoal. Good balance of sweetness from the berries against the dry roast. Very moreish, very tasty, very satisfying. Really enjoyed this one.
