(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20160116) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, sparse and white. Aroma had toffee, creamy toffee and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were toffee, creamy toffee, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy and bitter. A brew with nice hop bite.

Cask pint in my local Wetherspoons on 17th June 2015. Almost clear body of amber, the head a white affair that lasted. Good hop profile with a malty backbone in the taste. One of Rudgate’s better offerings.

Hand pulled at the Pump House, Shirley, Solihull. Poured a clear light amber with a frothty white head. The aroma is light malt, light spicy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth creamy dry woody hop, light citrus palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Greyfriar Preston. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aromas of lemon, malt. Taste is more of the same. Sweet finish.

Cask at William Jolle (W’Spoons), Northwood Hills. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, malty aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, caramel, bitter/sweet and quite dry.

Cask (backlog). Deep amber/copper colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is zesty, floral, sweet malts along with some resin and mild earth. Flavour is fruity, floral, zesty, mild nutty and caranmelly notes as well as some slight bready notes too.

Cask. Brewhouse, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Thin, dense, lasting, white head. Sweet malt. Peach. Caramel. Piny hop. Taste sets off sweet. Turns medium bitter. Little bit of soap. Long, fruity bitter finish. Very good. Quaffable.

Copper colour. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Very smooth and silky. Initially sweet, fruity and malty. Light hop bitterness in the finish.

Cask at Black Door, Helsinki. Colour is clear light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, hops and malts.
