Sumptuous dark chocolate stout with flavours of raisins and cherries. A fantastic long, rich cocoa finish.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Almost black with a creamy off-white head. Has plenty of dark roasted malts throughout its character, although no real chocolate to speak of with more of a coffee finish to its flavour.

Cask at the Anchor Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany with a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth liqourice bitter, smoky roast, light chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A very drinkable stout but given the pump clip I was expecting a little more chocolate!

Cask @ Coach and Horses Dronfield - a good looking stout, took time to settle, but when it did solid opaque block body, thick tan head that lasted the whole pint. Good nose of chocolate and roastiness, same with taste, with a smoothness normally reserved for fizz-induced pasteurised beers. Very, very good.

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Very dark brown with thin beige disappearing head. It has some nice enough hoc. Not very stouty, more like a choccy best bitter. OK bitterness on finish. Touch of charcoal.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense at Merton Beer Festival 16-02-07. Poured a very dark brown in colour, bitter coffee mostly on the nose, taste wasn’t as choclatey as expected and whilst this was nice enough it really struggled when compared to it’s nearest competitor the Rother Valley Co co Hops. Reasonably full bodied and flavoursome but never really grabbed me.
