From cask at Crown Inn, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, with OGJ 03.01.18. Clear mahogany. Foamy, dense and persistent head and lacing, in spite of being served without a sparkler. Fine aroma of medium dark malt and caramel. Complex taste of medium dark malt, brittle, caramel, roasted almonds and dried berries. Low bitterness.

13th June 2015: cask pint in The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Bronze hue to the russet coloured body, on top an off-white blanket of foam. Really fruity and sweet in both the nose and mouth, caramel and toffee from the malts with apples and pears from the hops. A sort of mixture of Apple Pie, Pear Crumble and a Toffee Apple all in liquid form. Good body depth too.

Cask at the Black Country Arms, Walsall. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is chewy malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light watery dry mineral malt palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Not the best bitter I have ever tasted. Needs some re-work in my humble opinion.

Spoons Fest. Very slight haze on this amber beer. Apologetic white head. Softish palate, semi dry. Low carbonation. Dusty tired tasting malt. Some fruity tang in the background, orangey and a trace of red berry fruits. The dusty malt dominates and spoils.

Half, cask at Angel (JDW). Cloudy amber body. Ring of bubbles to the rim. Fragile lacing. Mild aroma of resinous hops. Malt-leafy taste with hints of citrus. Bittering malts to the ending. Accepted (London, 20.03.2011).

Cask at the Angel, JDW. Clearish copper-gold with a nice, foamy white head. Aroma of grass and plastic, with hints of faint dough. Light sugars in the flavor, artificial bread, more plastic, some saltiness, mild herbal bitterness. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Dry finish, a bit more sugar, nothing too pleasant. Just drinkable.

Cask at The Green Lion Inn, Malmö
Light amber color, small creamy head. Light aroma, yeasty, moldy, apple skins. Light malt flavor, again with some yeast and apples skin. The final therefore has a little astringency too. This is a Golden Ale suffering from a fermentation or cellaring mess.

Cask at the Moon and Spoon (JDW), Slough. Bright gold with a dense cream head; plain, malty aroma; clean malty taste with a touch of citrus; gentle and sustained bitter finish. Unexciting.
