Keg at The Hanging Bat. Clear golden/amber body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of straw and melon rind. Flavour of Lager, underripe pear and a hint of pithy orange. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. I didn’t get the fruity orange hit I was hoping for. A surprisingly dull beer.

Cask at craft beer Co. A clear dark orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is mellow sweet grains, orange, hint of toast and marmalade. Flavour is composed of pale Base malts, slightly biscuity, toast, mellow orange rind. Firm grassy citrus hop bitterness palate is semi sweet, decent cask condition. Semi crisp in the finish. Fairly quaffable, maybe a bit bland.

Handpull cask from the Flying Pig, Cambridge. Golden brown, clear, with the tiniest bit of white head. Floral hop and orange peel to the fore in the nose, with some hay and grassy notes. Wonderful taste: bitter with a slight sweet edge, clean and fresh as you like. More floral and grassy hop in the finish with a bitter twist. Light body but it’s exactly what you want for this beer. Lots of juicy orange in the aftertaste tempered by a drying papery note. Excellent, especially for the ABV.

Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear, rich gold with a light, foamy white head. The nose holds semi-ripe orange, leafy hops, toasted grains. Light sweet flavor with grainy bread, moderate bitterness, slight astringency. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Leafy bitterness on the finish, more grains. OK.

(Cask at Craft Beer Clerkenwell, London, 8 Apr 2014) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, Seville orange and fresh citric hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange, mandarin, apricots and a generous, fresh, citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Lots of citrus with a fresh citrus peel bitterness. Nice one.
