Keg at BD CLJ, 27/10/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is roast malt, earthy cocoa, light smoke, toffee. Taste comprises sweet licks, very subtle rausch effect, toffee fudge, light chocolate. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with quite a sweet tongue lashing but tempered by roasted notes. Ok porter, much more porter than smoked.

Keg at Brewdog Shepard?s bush. Opaque black / dark brown coloured pour with a lasting thin mid tan head. Aroma is earthy mineral, coffee bean, bit of spicy veg pepper and hint of smoke. Palate is full and creamy with lowish carbonation. Very smooth in the tongue. Flavour is toasted coconut, nutty low smoke and earthy bark, lingering soft roast and choc. Very tasty.

Keg at BD Shoreditch - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy tan head. Plenty of smokey dark malts in the nose, some chocolate, burnt meat, dark fruits. Medium to big sweet flavor with well ripened dark fruits, blueberry, dates, some sugary chocolate, understated smoke, moderate scorched earth bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily and fairly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with mild charred malts, soft smokey roast, burnt sugars, earth, raisins. Good stuff.

Keg at BD CJ, thanks to Johnny. It pours near black with a small white head. The nose is rich smoke, roasted malt, earth, smoked ham and light oiliness. The taste is bitter, rich roast, smoke, earth, salted liquorice, oil, liquorice and warming alcohol with a slick finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Big rich smoke. Well executed.
