Cask @ Wetherspoons Brighton. Dark brown color, dark red glare coming through, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, dark malts, dry bitterness. Not a black IPA imo, more of a brown ale or a porter.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Opaque mahogany with a tight beige head; aroma of good quality drinking chocolate; sweet and lactic in the mouth with a bitter cocoa taste, and some deeply roasted fruity grains, then a slowly building woody bitterness. Good, but rather too sweet for me on the finish.

Cask at the Willow Walk, 11/08/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown meets light black with a well appointed khaki covering. Nose is light roast, cocoa, hint of coffee, small pine linger, spice, dark red berry notes. Taste comprises an earthy hop presence, trace of pine, cocoa rub, light red berry tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close basked in light roast and moderate hop bitterness. So so for style. An easy drinker but not pulling off the best aspects of C-D-A !

Cask at the Willow Walk, JDW - London. Pours rich brown with a frothy tan head. The bose has toated brown bread, some ripe citrus, earth, cocoa. Medium sweet with burnt sugars, ripe orange, dark bread, charred grains, some old raisins. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with earthy bitterness, more burnt grains, some leathery fruits. So so.

Cask at The William Jolle (Spoons), Northwood Hills. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thick, creamy off white head. This looked like Guinness at first. Sweet, roasty, malty aroma. Tastes quite sweet, roasty, malty, slightly fruity with a slight bitterness.

Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Very dark brown with a small creamy head. Has light roasted malts with a sweetness and its strength is evident.
