Almost Black, Opaque Brown, Huge Foamy Head, Lots of Lacing. No Aroma. Lightly Toasted, Reminds Me Of Guinness. That impression is reaffirmed by the looks and taste. Taste is also more like a stout. Toasted Malt and Bitter. Makes me Wonder if this is misclassified in wrong style. Drinkable. Just OK for Me.

Draft at the Dillinger in Boulder City. Dark clear brown color, fluffy brown head. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste is similar. How is this a saison?

Dark brown with a huge lacey head. Nothing but its strong carbonation suggests saison style. It is disappointing given the other beers from this brewery that are among my favorites.

Bottle at Taps, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head, The aroma is light citrus. The flavour is strong bitter with a watery tart resin light medicinal hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not my favourite beer and I won’t be ordering another. A Saison? I don’t think so. Where is the drawing board again?

bottle - This is a saison? Really? huh. Okay. It pours dark amber with a one finger, thick tan head that lingers. It smells and tastes of caramel malt. There’s some spicy yeast, maybe a hint of fruit, and a mild finish. It’s okay I guess.

Pours deep mahogany into a Sam glass. Tan head with excellent retention recedes leaving creamy spider lacing. Dusty caramel and chocolate aromas. Dry and thin with dark chocolate and pit fruit upfront. Turning to mild bitter earth in the abrupt finish.

Bottle. Aroma was sweet caramel notes, some light grain and a very minor touch of funk. Flavor was caramel malts, some herbal notes. Okay.

Faint dried leaves and potpourri bouquet. Clear cola, enormous firm tan head. Dry cola flavor, pretty bland but a delightful almond finish. Light body, but not watery. Eh.

A clear brown saison with a thin brown head. In aroma, a grassy and fruity malt with grassy hops, light coffee and herbaceous notes. In mouth, a herbaceous malt with grassy hops, coriander, chocolate, interesting. Bottle at Brooklyn Pour 2013.
