Hazy White DIPA (8.5%) fermented with Belgian wit yeast and LAIII. Soft and smooth with notes of white grape, lime, ripe pear and candied tropical fruit. Subtle clove, light banana and citrus spice round out this unique, gently spicy twist on the style.

We’ve brewed hazy DIPAs in a lot of shapes and forms but this one’s a little different. Tranquility (8.5%) is our take on a Hazy White DIPA, fermented with a blend of Belgian Wit yeast and LAIII. It’s soft, rounded and just a bit spicy in all the right ways.

The base is built with Golden Promise, wheat and oats, creating a smooth body for the hops to sit on. Nelson Sauvin Cryo and Citra Cryo go into the whirlpool followed by a double dry hop of El Dorado, more Nelson Sauvin and more Citra Cryo. Expect bright white grape, lime, ripe pear and some candied tropicals layered without being over the top.

The Belgian Wit yeast keeps things interesting with subtle clove, light banana and a citrusy snap that ties it all together. This one’s plush, slightly off centre and exactly what we were going for!

Can. Color: Very hazy orange, white head. Aroma: Sweetish, white grape, melon, ripe pear, overripe tropical fruit. Taste: Ripe pear, spicy clove, overripe white grape, melon and mango. Yeasty hints. Very smooth and pretty dense mouthfeel. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. Spicy and sweet fruit finish. Medium sweet, moderate bitterness. Not your average DIPA. Nice twist. Ok overall.
