Pours very dark brown. Nearly no head. Scent is boozy, sharp, plastic, roasty. Taste is fairly thin, boozy, roasty, bit ashy, plasticy , harsh alcohol, even after all these years. The time these came out is about the time I lost faith in my once top favorite brewery, and the years have not smoothened them out 😞 such an enormous difference to what the series, and the brewery, once were.

33cl bottle (vintage 2020, bottled 15/05/2023, 15%) as “Black Damnation 16” from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: thin, tanned, quick gone. C: black, opaque. A: rich dark malts, dark chocolate, woody, whisky, peat, coffee, vanilla touch. T: full malty base, chocolate, coffee, whisky, woody, peat, vanilla, nutty, oily mouthfeel, long lasting bitterness (140 IBU), low carbonation, really delicious evening sipper, fully enjoyed.

Vintage 2020. A black beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma has liquorice, chocolate, caramel, some dried fruitness, hint og whiskey. Taste has liquorice, roastiness, dry barrel, some bitterness. Full bodied. The barreling is drying nicely. Surprisingly easy to enjoy and it's a complement.

0.33 l bottle from 'Ace Drinks', 15% abv, 2020 vintage, bottled in May 2023. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, roasted hazelnut, whisky and dark ripe fruits. Fairly sweet, malty, very roasty, slightly boozy and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, lots of licorice, roasted hazelnut, whisky and light dark ripe fruits, followed by a very long, heavily roasty-bitter, just slightly boozy finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Finally a great Black Damnation variant remake living up to its reputation. Super intense with delicious flavours, great barrel-aging, superb mouthfeel. Maybe the best of the Black Damnation remakes for me so far.

Bottled 330ml (DBH) As Black Damnation 16, 15%. Opaque colour, small brownish head. Dark malts, soya sayce and booze in the nose with touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied. First impression: very boozy. Sweetish vanilla in front, toasted malts, even dark fruits. Potential but is quite strong.
