Hand-pulled half-pint in the Brewery Tap during the RB Black Country Bus Trip on 6th July 2013. I love traditional Dark Milds: this didn’t let me down. Ruby red/brown, deep and rich looking: on top an off-white head that wanted to hang around. The nose and taste were of malt molasses: chocolate (Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut bar actually) with a little bit of the silver paper (or a metallic twang) in the finish. Most enjoyable and flavoursome: full bodied for a 4% ABV brew too.

Cask at the Windsor Castle, Lye. Poured a dark rich red colour with a frothy off white head. The flavour is big dry malt leading to a weak bitter, nutty. malty, slightly metallic flavour. A very flavourful and drinkable session beer!
