A joyfully flavoured smooth, strong, aromatic ale that is dangerously easy to drink. This rich gold ale is Craddock Brewery’s most favoured beer.

Quick half at the Good Intent before heading home on the train and my notes read: Damp tea towels, grains, yeasty sour face slap, old cardigans, some actual fruit note, medium bodied, drying. Its crap.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Good Intent on 8th November 2024. Golden body, white topping. Light citrus nose and taste, some malt action but it's all a bit too subtle and weak, surprised it held 5.4% ABV to be honest.

Cask at Good Intent. Aroma had malts and honey. Clear gold. Foamy white head with decent lacing. Medium bitter. Resin. Sour citrus. Underlying buttery streak. Spice. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat-soft carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Sweet and boozy. Not particularly exciting. On second thoughts , the sweet buttery booze is a bit 'meh'.

Handpull cask at King Charles II, Worcester. Light to mid-gold, clear with very little head. Malty, buttery aroma with a touch of vinegar. Sweet taste with a harsh vegetable/plastic off note at the finish. Could be past its best or just a bad beer. An unfortunate experience.

Half-pint, cask at King Charles II. Filmy white layer, clear golden body, clingy lacing down the glass. Mild fruity nose, mid-sweet. Moments of lemony hops and lightly malt sweetness to the taste profile. Mid-sweet fruity ending. Medium bodied. Accepted. (Worcester 07.07.2018).

From cask at King Charles II, Worcester, Worcestershire, with OGJ 02.01.18. This ale is oxodized. Clear pale golden. Small head. Aroma and taste — oh, heck, I can’t be bothered, it’s freakin’ stale. Gnetasmak!
