Might Arrow Pale Ale provides lots of pleasurable sniffs from Amarillo and Cascade hops with a fetching honey malt base. This is our brewed tribute to Arrow, Kim’s Aussie/Border Collie mix who ran (literally) New Belgium for 12 years. When she wasn’t patrolling the brewery grounds, she was famous for her office visits: She never met a tummy rub she didn’t like. Atta girl Arrow.

courtesy of vasdef42. Props to New Belgium. Finally an APA that stands out. Pours a golden/copper with thick off-white head. Aroma of herbal/grassy hops.and some citrus notes. Taste, floral hoppy with thick mouthfeel light sweet honey malts and spices. Some pale malts and tittering fruit notes of grapefruit and some citrus. Overall it remains rather sweet and extremely drinkable. This is one fine beer, well balanced between the hops and the sweetness.

Bottle from BevMo in Fairfield. Light copper color with a decent fizzy white head. Aroma of mild hop. Not much else. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. I have no clue what the flavor is. More herbal than hop. Or maybe it’s floral/citrus but not so floral. The finish is kind of cat box, so I’ll go with citrus. Way weird for a pale ale.

Bottle. Pours a copper golden color with a small frothy white head. The aroma is very hoppy with grapefruit and pine. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is sweet fruit with a crisp finish. Easy to drink, a very good pale ale from New Belgium.

Best before May 15, 2009. 12 oz bottle poured into a New Belgium glass, you know, to go with the theme. Pours with almost no head, just a but of lacing and a completely clear dark amber color. Aroma is green and vine-like hops with a bit of bubblegum sweet hops as well. Taste is very clean with just a hint of residual sweetness and lots of neutral, earthy hoppiness. Aftertaste has a bit of cereal to it and some bitterness to round it off. Its a basic APA, works well when it is fresh.
Pulled another bottle out of the six pack, poured with a large head when I was a bit less careful with the pour yet used the same exact glass.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a malty aroma with some citrus hoppy hints. Malty hoppy flavor with some citrus hints. Has a malty finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

Draft at Seattle International Beer Fest; Nose of very light floral hops and caramel; Clear light amber with a ring of off-white bubbles; flavor of light hop bitterness and caramel finish lightly bitter.

Draft: Golden with a smaller white head. Aroma is lightly floral and a bit grassey. Taste is grainy with light grassey hops and a little bit of malt. Rather sour and brash. Sampled at some dive bar in Sun Valley... could have been foul tap lines? I’ll try to re-rate this one.

Sent in a picture. Pours with a big, rocky, white head covering a clear, deep gold body. Nice hoppy aroma with some bready malts. Good lacing and retention from the head. Nice lightly spicey, hoppy taste with a fruity malt back bone over the long duration. Nice level of carbonation.

Bottle. Poured pale amber with a thick white head. Lekker floral hop aroma with citrusy notes. Then i tasted it. It seemed flat. There was very little flavor. Little malt, little hop little anything. Thin mouthfeel. A tiny bit of bitterness in the finish. After beginning so well, this beer was a disappointment.

tap at the brewery - Pours clear orange with a thin head. The caramel malt and citrus hop aroma is very good and leads nicely into the well balanced flavor. It has a slightly dry finish, is medium bodied and is certainly easy to drink. it won’t blow you away, but it’s an enjoyable quaff.
