Dry-Hopped Imperial Stout

Brewed with a careful selection of caramel and roasted malts, the end result is a moderate, smooth roasted maltiness that is warming and gentle, but still firm. Bear Hug showcases hop aromas in an Imperial Stout without being overly bitter.

Draft at The Eccentric Cafe, Kalamazoo. Deep opaque brown-black body with ruddy highlights, medium to thick beige head. Nose of caramel, chocolate, and roasted malts. Round, full, creamy body with caramel and chocolate, finishing with bitter piny hops and roast. Robust and complex for a relatively low-ABV stout.

Great Taste, 2017. Black of course. Alcohol is surprisingly prominent in the aroma. Sweet aroma and I get some coconut here. Medium sweet, and alcohol is not present in the flavor at all. Medium sweet. Strange it doesn't mention coconut in the aroma. I wonder if they poured the wrong beer.

Draft - Roast malts, coffee and some sweet booze. Jet black with a nice brown head. Dark malts and avert nice balancing sweetness that masks booze and bitterness. Subtle and pleasant.
