A rye IPA originally brewed in collaboration with Due South Brewing from Florida, but also locally inspired. We used fresh Valencia oranges in three different brewing stages, along with honey from the hills above Sant Joan de Mediona. Subtle citrus notes intermingle with hop flavors and spiciness from the rye malts for a full flavored IPA with a refreshing bite.

Bottled at Bishops Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Hazy deep golden. Fruity nose with butter and tangerine. Sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and buttery. Simplistic malt character. Eh.

Tap at CBC 2015. Poured a hazy medium amber with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is light orange citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big citrus woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draught @ Ölrepubliken. Pours hazy pale brown with a big frothy and fluffy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of sticky trace on the glass. Smell is slightly malty and slightly fruity with wholegrain crackers, crisp bread, grapefruit juice, pineapple, mango, papaya, freshly cut grass, pine needles, black pepper corns and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, bitter and fruity. Mouthfeel is viscous syrupy, round, astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with sweet dark rye bread, caramel, grapefruit juice, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, freshly cut grass, pine needles, dark honey, Campari, black pepper corns, orange zest and lemon zest. This is a solid idea and so very close to a solid tasty beer but the honey, which I usually like in beer, provides a viscous syrupy mouthfeel whilst making the beer unnecessarily sweet. Next time make it drier and reduce the honey a lot. --- Beer merged from original tick of Taronja HoRyezon on 02 Jul 2015 at 13:02 - Score: 7. 330 ml. bottle sampled. Purchased @ Malt Attacks. I read the ingredients prior to purchasing this beer, they are: Water, Barely Malt, Hops. Listed in 4 different languages, they appear to be the same. The text on the bottle which I read after buying & trying the beer lists oranges & honey as well as rye. I do believe that this constitutes a violation of European regulation: http://www.brewersofeurope.org/site/media-centre/post.php?doc_id=865 Thanks douchebags for listing your ingredients so properly. I often don’t read marketing bullshit on labels but I will start doing so. BBF 15-09-2016. Quite dark hazy amber, creamy off-white head. Smell is that of honey, bread, grapefruit peel, sweet flowers, brown honey,… Taste is honey, big time, bread, bitter grapefruit peel, faintly floral, light grass in the finish, sweet marmalade & honey character,… Honey thicker malts body,… Decent beer dicks even if the heavy honey caused the death of something inside me. Not buying any beers from these guys again.
