Pours nicely, looks great in the glass with a big firm head and dark yellow tint. Really weak aroma, maybe some malts in there but it’s hard to tell. Taste is a heavy syrup with a bitter finish, and not much else. This one’s a malt liquor, perhaps better used as paint thinner, way too thick and not tasty in the slightest.

Can: Poured a golden color with white head. Aroma is alcohol. Taste was over the top alcohol with a bitter metal aftertaste. Very hot!

Can -8.4%-from the Marais Monoprix. Amber gold color with a slightly rocky white head. Rather fruity aroma. About medium in body with frothy carbonation. Heat burns a bit. Flavor suggests grapefruit in a way. It has flavor. Loads better than Camo and that ilk.

Canned. Golden colour, small white creamy/foamy head. Aroma is fruits, sweet malts and hops along with underlying notes of alcohol. Flavour is smooth malts, hops and fruits while drinking. What happends after swallowing is interesting. A really burning alcoholic/sweet sticky maltyness strikes and leaves in the palate. This burning feeling last for almost half a minute. One of the stranger ESL’s I’ve had.

33cl bottle from Carrefour, Calais. Gold with rocky thick white head. Well it smells like a lager, it tastes like a lager and it finishes like a lager, but with some hot alcohol noticeable. I really do have a soft spot for these European strong lagers and this fits into that category perfectly. Slightly creamy aroma with a touch of citrus hops. Fine in mouth, some of that alcohol is clearly present and then some quite tasty citrus hop on end. I’ve had worse. Carbonation is fine and not overly metallic. Super.

Tap, Excalibur, Girona, Spain. Clear yellow color, short head. Aroma is grainy, some hops. Bit malty and grainy taste. I didn’t expect it to be rated this bad actually. Maybe, because it was from tap that it’s much better?
