An adaptation of one of our favourite dark beers, this blend of stouts spent up to 24 months aging in Heaven Hills & Four Roses Bourbon barrels. We then transferred it onto a blend of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla to mimic the flavours of our Con Leche stout. We sourced a blend of aromatic coffee beans from one of our favourite local roasters that dominates the flavour and aroma of this beer. Notes of cinnamon and vanilla sweetness dance on your tongue, while flavours of rich dark chocolate and fig tie everything together.

Can 355ml. @ home.

[ As Twin Sails Barrel Aged Con Leche (Bourbon) ].
ABV: 15.1%. Dark dark black colour with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting and then quick diminishing, light brown to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, coffee, strong coffee (the coffee as it gets air, is moving in the direction of coffee vegetables), chocolate, barrel, wood, alcohol - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bourbon, wood, molasses, coffee - chocolate, barrel, strong coffee, light peppery. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20200421]

330mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out earthy coffee, gentle bourbon barrels, and cocoa. Flavour is intense, with lots of earthy coffee, moderate bourbon, and a little vanilla. Heavy and rich. Lovely.

Dark brown, a few bubbles. On the nose, that’s got a rich bourbon character, lots of chocolate, getting maybe ancho, vanilla. On the palate it’s chile and chocolate up front, with a rich bourbon barrel character with both vanilla and wood. Balanced and complex. Maybe not as truly brilliant as the rum barrel from a couple of years ago but damn fine.

355 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head that settles quickly. Aromas of earthy ground coffee, vanilla, spice and slick roasted malts. Flavors of spicy chocolate, vanilla, light bourbon barrel (maybe a bit of oak and sweetness) and oily toasted malts. Was thinking coffee overkill by the aroma but Flavors are really well well balanced. ABV is evident as heat.
