A “festival” strength Russian Imperial Stout inspired by the huge stouts of yesteryear from USA, Denmark & Scotland. Brewed with a many generations old English yeast and hopped with Farnham white bine from the adjacent hop farm. Chocolate, molasses, dark fruit esters with a touch of vanilla big, bold and dangerously easy to drink.

750ml bottle thanks to my bro. It pours jet black with a thick, chubby dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, decadent, charred, bitter - sweet, burnt toast, dark chocolate torte, dried fruits, raisin, dried fig, Eccles cake, malt loaf, neopolitan ice cream, vanilla, pipe tobacco and rocky road. The taste of slick, thick, dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, thick chocolate vibes, dark chocolate, chewy, neopolitan ice cream, rocky road, chocolate cake, vanilla, toasted marshmallows, pipe tobacco, more restrained alcohol presence than I expected, touch of toasty spice and burnt toast with a chewy finale. Fulsome body, moderate carbonation and quite velvety mouth feel.

Bottle via the online shop. Nearly black. Leggy and semi lacing glossy tan foam. Nose has red wine dregs. Milk chocolate. Ripe orange. Whiff of mint leaf. I don’t really understand this, so far. Taste is semi sweet with a touch of a fruity twang. Some roast malt bitterness. Drinks like a beer half the actual ABV, feeling creamy and dessert like. Tangy fruity light bitter finish. Pretty amazing drinkability here. Not sure I’ve had anything close to this. Bonkers.
