Nice beer. Mellow roast, burnt toast, faint twang, coffee, soft earthy-leafy bitterness. Nips of cocoa. Well balanced overall, well Fri k able.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head, dissipated to leave some mild lace
Aroma: dark bread, toast, nutty tones, earthy tones and a little bit of cocoa powder
Flavor: starts toasty and somewhat roasty with good earthiness then becomes a bit sweeter with more sips; mild earthy to sweet and bready aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, smooth along my tongue, finishes earthy, nutty and dry
Overall: a very nicely done dark lager, absolutely would love again.

16 oz can. Aroma of dark bread and mild nutty malt. flavor files with a very subtle hop bitterness the balance to the nutty toasted malt. The texture is also quite good for how low of an ABV. I can only imagine how great this would be on a side pull. Wow! 🤩

Can from trade with CLW--thanks, Chris! Virtually opaque, dark brown, thin head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong toasted malt. Taste is strong toasted malt, hint of the initiation of Concord grape flavor, late earthy malt. Smooth, fairly thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Good representation of the style. Excellent strength for ABV.

Lukr pour at Blackback, 6/21/25.
Dark, with cola tints, clear. Rich, creamy, dark beige head.
Milk chocolate and little/no roast with minimal toast and good minerality and a snappy, gently herbal hop finish.
Soft and malty, very deep with good richness but good attenuation. Low roast, low toast, with gentle, herbal hop bitterness and a good balance tending soft, lightly sweet and comforting. The flavor is wonderfully-balanced, though, with tons of base malt and only enough dark malt to create the chocolate you want without all the bready roast/toast.
