Believed to be the oldest brewhouse in Britain it is known that this building use operational as a monk’s resthouse in the early 15th century. It became an inn in the 18th century.

The Blue Anchor is one of only 4 original brew pubs left in the country still brewing today which continued to brew throughout and has the prestige of being Cornwall's oldest brewery.

Our business has expanded into Porthleven with the opening of our sister pub, Out of The Blue, of course selling our famous Cornish Spingo Ales, with caravan & camping facilities on the premises it makes for an idyllic setting for traveller's who want to get Spingo'd
