Draft at the Trail's End. Pours black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is mahogany, cherry brandy, toffee, cola, and light leather. Sweet and malty, with a light boozy finish. Heavy and sharp. Quality and enjoyable strong ale, but lacking scotch ale character.

Can - purple pour, tan lace - smells like buttered popcorn someone spilled whiskey all over, like the floor of an Alamo Draft House at midnight on a Saturday - tastes like watered-down bourbon, peat, caramelized sugars, buttery diacetyl - watery finish with some funky acidity - it’s not good.

Cold IPAs still better than IPLs, not enough lager or hops here, but it's the style!

Tap. Pours clear mahogany, medium creamy tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is spicy wood, caramel, cinnamon, toffee, werthers. Flavor is merlin sweet, light plus bitter. A bit too spiced but otherwise excellent. Medium fluffy body.
