Bottle at Great Nepalese Restaurant, Euston, London. Pours a golden colour, with a small white head. Sweet, grassy aroma. Light bodied, average carbonation, light bitterness to finish. This appears to be a UK brewed version from the same people who are (were?) UK Importer.

500ml bottle @ Mount Sherpa, Kuopio

Pours clear golden with a small head. Aroma of crisp bready notes, starch and hints of metal. Taste is smooth, metallic and starchy with hints of malts. Finish is smooth, watery and easygoing. Decent pale lager, nothing special here.

Found in Bandipur, about 125km northwest of Kathmandu. You don’t even see advertising for Iceberg until you’re past the halfway point on the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. This is highly localized stuff! Pours darker-yellow with barely any head, and I tried to get some foam out of this one but it just wouldn’t bite. Aroma is all metal, water, alcohol, completely unappealing. Flavour is a corn mix with hints of lemon water, and just a little bit of grain in there to remind you you’re actually supposed to be drinking beer. Weak mouthfeel. Perhaps there’s a reason this beer isn’t more widely available.
