Peace Tree Brewing Company is dedicated to brewing handcrafted, full-flavored beers with a great attention to quality. Our brewery began in 2009 in a former Nash Rambler car dealership on Main Street in Knoxville, Iowa.
Head brewmaster Joe Kesteloot came to us with years of professional and home brewing experience and brought with him a true passion and creativity for developing his own unique recipes.
We held the grand opening for our 20-Bbl brewhouse in March 2010, and within a month, were producing and bottling our brews – hand-delivering them to stores, bars and restaurants around the state.
Brewing great beer is our passion, but we are also passionate about where we have come from and where we are going. The names of our beers often have connections to the places in our past, especially derived from memories and places in our community and our state.

From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Aroma of bread with some floral notes. Flavors of biscuit and lemon. Pretty decent for the style.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has tart tropical fruits and lemon with a bit of light wheat underlying. Flavor has strong tart and bitter lemon with some light wheat and a bit of acid in the finish.

At SAVOR 2016. Poured a hazy orange color. Aroma was nice citrus notes, pine and floral. Flavor was nice pine resin, citrus fruit character. Tasty.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is cocoa and roasted malts. Thin mouth, chocolate, toasted malt, ash, boozy, decent.

Draft at Iowa Taproom. Mostly clear gold, thin lasting head. Aroma is moderate Belgain yeast, pale malt showing honey hints. Flavor has lasting yeast throughout the sip. Lighter side of medium body with a very light black pepper. Lots of lingering yeast aftertaste

Draft at Iowa Taproom. Slightly hazy yellow color, no head. Aroma shows me light wheat, saline solution and tart lemons. The flavor is light on the salt with lots of lasting tart lemon. Not over done with salt, just enough. Body is light and refreshing. Fine drinking gose.

Bottle. A- Mango, papaya, guava, peach, tropical fruits, caramel, pine. A- Orange color, clear liquid, white head. T- Caramel, pine, bitter, subtle tropical fruits. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- At first the aroma is of great tropical fruits that quickly fades with the head and turns caramel like. The taste is fairly bitter and plenty of caramel malt and pine with much less fruit. Pretty good. Might be great when super fresh.
