Description
If you feel that real farmhouse cider can only be made on a farm, by a farmer, then Hartland Cider is for you. This small family operation is based in North Gloucestershire was started by local farmer Ray Hartland at Flat Farm on the outskirts of Staunton. When the council refused to transfer the tenancy to Ray's son Dereck, the family moved their farming and cider making to nearby Tirley Villa farm.

Sweet Cider from Hartland's Farmhouse Cider

[From a barrel at GBBF 2005] A pale yellow cider with no head. The aroma is sweet with light apple notes. The flavor is sweet with notes of sacharin, apples, and yeast. I don’t like the artificial notes of sacharin.

Medium Perry from Hartland's Farmhouse Cider

[At GBBF 2005] An unclear orange perry ofcourse with no head. The aroma is strong of pears, combined with some notes of alcohol. The flavor is nicely sweet with notes of over ripe pears. Nice.
