Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, dark amberish brown in color and with a small, dense, light beige head on top. The aroma is rather spiced, with cloves and some ginger, overpowering the roasted malts and caramel. Semi-sweet and feeling sort of dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted, spiced flavor with caramel and a touch of chocolate. A decent one, but the spicyness feels a bit unbalanced. 141220

Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and some thing that reminds me of sour berrries. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long spiced, bitter, caramel and slightly tart finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle at home. Has a hazy nut brown colour with an ivory head. Spicy aroma with cinnamon, cloves, toasted malt, leather and licorice. Lots of spices in the flavour as well along with maple syrup, heather, wood and leather. Has a slick mouth feel and well-balanced bitterness. A nice and spicy ale but you need to love cloves. Superb Christmas beer.
